In Germany, 770 new coronavirus infections were detected in the past 24 hours. The Robert Koch Institut (RKI) reports this.
The registered number of infections is now at 188,543.
It is the second day in a row that the number of new infections is about 200 higher than the day before.
The number of people recovered has increased by about 400 to 174,400.
Sixteen people have died from the effects of the lung virus in the past 24 hours. The total death toll is 8872.
