China accuses the European Union, the United States, Japan, and Taiwan of dumping certain plastics on the Chinese market at low prices.
Based on preliminary conclusions from an investigation into the plastic trade, the Ministry of Commerce announced that China is introducing countermeasures. These consist of import duties that could amount to almost 75 percent.
The countries are said to be guilty of price dumping on the market for polyoxymethylene, a plastic known for its hardness and suitability for industry, electronics, and car parts.
The duties of the plastic can vary greatly depending on the country or manufacturer. They involve additional import duties between 3.8 percent and 74.9 percent.
