In the last days of President Donald Trump’s tenure, the US government is drastically changing its vaccination policy against the coronavirus.
The entire vaccine stock will be made available immediately, according to US media. This means that no doses are kept in reserve so that people can be assured of a second vaccination.
The US has had its deadliest day since the start of the pandemic. The authorities registered more than 4,400 deaths in 24 hours on Tuesday. Some hospitals are struggling with the influx of corona patients.
The government now calls on states to immediately vaccinate all over-65s.
“If a vaccine is in a warehouse and does not go into an arm, it could mean another life is lost, or a hospital bed occupied,” stressed Health Minister Alex. Azar.
