Hurricane Ida Could Cost Insurers $30 Billion

About 30 people are missing after six houses collapsed in the west German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

 

It happened during the night from Wednesday to Thursday due to flooding and heavy rain, regional broadcaster SWR reported Thursday.

The six collapsed houses stood in the town of Schuld, near Adenau, in the hilly Eiffel region. About 25 other houses are about to collapse.

According to a police spokesperson, the situation in Schuld is unclear.
