Airline KLM is investigating the three aircraft that had technical problems last weekend. A spokesperson announced this and indicated that these appear to be isolated incidents.
An aircraft en route from Oslo to Amsterdam had to divert to another airport in Norway on Saturday after a loud noise was heard during takeoff. The aircraft ended up next to the runway during landing. In addition, a flight to Bali returned on Sunday evening after technical problems.
On Sunday evening, a flight to Shanghai also returned to Schiphol due to problems with the drinking water on board.
According to the KLM spokesperson, there was a leak in the storage system. “A certain amount of drinking water is needed on a long flight like this, including for coffee and tea. Because this was unavailable, the captain looked at the options and decided to return.”
According to the spokesperson, there is no reason to assume that anything other than coincidence or bad luck is happening. “These are three very annoying defects, but fortunately, everyone is safe. The efforts are now focused on bringing everyone to their destination.”
