The damage in Ukraine from the invasion of Russian soldiers is around 1 trillion dollars (920 billion euros), according to Deputy Minister of Economy Aleksandr Griban.
He calls the devastation “colossal”.
It concerns damage to buildings, health and infrastructure. “And then there is much more damage, such as the community or personally,” said the minister.
“We have to work hard for the reconstruction.”
1 billion hryvnias (31 million euros) has been set aside for urgent repairs in areas where the Russians have left. That money is spent on urgent clean-up and repair jobs.
