The Trade Agreement With British Official After Approval of EU Parliament

The British and the European Union have been constructively discussing how to proceed after Britain departed from the EU earlier this year.

The chief negotiators, Michael Barnier on behalf of Brussels and David Frost for London, made this known after a video conference.

They want to make progress in the coming months ahead of the June summit on the future relationship between the EU and the United Kingdom.

This makes the deliberations seem to have started again after a difficult phase due to the corona crisis. The two negotiators had not spoken since Barnier reported on March 19 that he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Frost went into self-isolation a day later with mild flu symptoms. He hadn’t been in physical contact with Barnier for two weeks.
