The number of daily corona infections in Germany has increased again over the past 24 hours.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases, the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported 23,648 new confirmed cases on Friday, making a total of 879,564.
22,609 cases were reported on Thursday. On Wednesday, 17,561 new cases were reported, Tuesday 14,419 and Monday it was 10,824 new infections.
The reported death toll rose by 260 to 13,630. That was also higher than the previous 24 hours when 251 people died from the effects of Covid-19.
In Germany, a partial lockdown has been in effect since 2 November.
The catering industry is closed, and a maximum of 10 people from two households are allowed to visit each other. Schools and shops will remain open.
