Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, says late 2023 will be “good timing” to find a new CEO for the company.
Musk indicates that Twitter’s organization needs to be more stable and financially sound, with a clear product roadmap. According to Reuters, he said that in response to a question he received at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
Musk took over Twitter last fall and immediately became CEO of the company. Almost immediately, more than half of the staff was laid off to cut costs.
As a result, Twitter has never really been profitable. But at the end of last year, Musk already indicated that he wanted to put someone else in charge in the long term. “As soon as I can find someone crazy enough to take the job,” he said on Twitter.
With Musk at the head of Twitter, the company has started, among other things, the paying variant Twitter Blue. But the company also regularly adjusts settings to the dismay of users.
At the same time, he allows accounts that are open again because of hate speech or other violations, which in turn means that many advertisers have dropped out.
