IATA Expects Record of 5.2 Billion Airline Passengers in 2025

According to the International Aviation Industry Association IATA, the number of airline passengers will exceed 5 billion for the first time in 2025.

In addition, due to the continued strong demand for air travel, the aviation sector’s turnover will exceed the trillion dollar mark for the first time next year.

The number of passengers is expected to reach 5.2 billion in 2025, an increase of 6.7 percent compared to this year. The number of flights will increase to 40 million. The sector’s total turnover is estimated at just over 1 trillion dollars, helped by falling oil and fuel prices.

That’s up 4.4 percent from 2024.

The sector’s net profit is expected to reach $36.6 billion in 2025 despite supply chain issues, infrastructure shortcomings, heavy regulation and rising tax burdens, up from the $31.5 billion net profit expected this year.
