Chip maker Intel has acquired Ananki, a technology specialist for 5G networks. Ananki, which grew out of the non-profit Open Networking Foundation, was in the process of commercializing open source networking technology.
The acquisition of Ananki was just confirmed on LinkedIn by Guru Parulkar, co-founder and CEO of the company and also director of the Open Networking Foundation.
Ananki has created a commercial offering based on Aether. This ranks as the first open-source 5G Connected Edge platform with an operational network.
