Toyota Suspends Car Production Due to Approaching Typhoon

The Japanese car group Toyota Motor will suspend production at three factories in western Japan because of the approaching Typhoon Hinnamnor.

Toyota is canceling Monday evening shifts and Tuesday morning shifts at factories in western Fukuoka prefecture. The company expects to resume production later on Tuesday.

Japanese automaker Nissan Motor also said it would suspend production in Fukuoka.

In South Korea, airline flights have already been canceled due to Hinnamnor causing strong winds and heavy rainfall. Companies are also going to shut down activities in South Korea.

Seoul has raised the alert level for the typhoon to its highest level.
