Small British companies may have received 640 million pounds in corona loans when they were not entitled to them. This was reported by the British state-owned bank British Business Bank.
These companies received a loan through the Bounce Back Loan Scheme, which compensated small British companies for loss of income due to the corona pandemic.
Entrepreneurs could apply for a loan until the end of March 2021. Small businesses have applied for £46.6 billion through this scheme.
Millions of frauds with corona support also occur in the Netherlands. For example, the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) arrested 25 entrepreneurs last May who received 6 million euros in corona support.
False turnover data were deliberately provided based on forged documents.
