The European Commission Starts Research into Google's Online Advertisements

Tech giant Google is spending $ 7 billion less this year on business expansions in the United States. Previously, Google promised to invest a lot more money.

Before the corona crisis broke out roughly a year ago, Google talked about $ 10 billion in investment to expand its US offices and data centres.

That amount already amounted to a decrease because, in 2019, the company promised to spend about 13 billion dollars in growth in the US.

The new announcement does mean that Google clearly wants to hire additional people. In April last year, the group decided to slow down its recruitment for the rest of 2020 due to the uncertainty that the corona crisis brought about. Google’s new investment should create at least 10,000 new American jobs this year.

The global advertising market has been on the rise for some time now after the earlier blow at the start of the corona pandemic.

Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube, therefore had a strong closing quarter of 2020. In addition, the American company also benefited from the pandemic because many people were confined to their homes and thus spent more time surfing the internet.
