French Prime Minister Borne Offers to Resign, Macron Refuses

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has tendered her resignation to President Emmanuel Macron.

 

He has refused “so that the government can continue to work these days”, the Elysée announced on Tuesday morning.

 

The head of state will hold “the necessary political consultations (…) to find possible constructive solutions in the service of the French,” it said, ahead of a series of meetings with party leaders at the Elysée on Tuesday and Wednesday.
