Apple nuances the claim that a leak in iPhones and iPads can be exploited simply by sending a specially crafted email.

 

The company sees no evidence that the vulnerability was used against customers.

The company does not deny the problem. But says the impact is less severe than what ZecOps, which discovered the vulnerability, claims.

“We thoroughly studied the investigator’s report and, based on that information, concluded that the issues do not pose an immediate risk to our users,” Apple said in a statement.

Besides, Apple says that there are three things in the Mail app that cause vulnerability.
