The Trade Agreement With British Official After Approval of EU Parliament

The European Parliament approves the European Union’s trade and cooperation agreement with the United Kingdom, with 660 votes in favour, 5 against and 32 abstentions.

Ratification by parliament was the last necessary step for the formal, new relationship between the EU and the country that had been an EU member for almost half a century.

The treaty, which had been in effect temporarily since 1 January, will now officially enter into force with ratification. Brussels is thus putting an end to Brexit.
