Indonesia Starts Large-Scale Vaccinations on January 13

Indonesia begins January 13 with a major vaccination campaign with the Chinese vaccine from Sinovac Biotech.

 

The first to be vaccinated is President Joko Widodo.

The country wants to start vaccinating 1.3 million people who are active in healthcare.

The country of 275 million inhabitants has relatively few cases of the coronavirus. Of the 772,000 people diagnosed with the virus, nearly 640,000 have been cured or had no disease symptoms.

Health authorities blame nearly 23,000 deaths from the coronavirus.
