Fear Weighs Down Investments in Chinese Technology

Alibaba puts 66 million Pounds into its First European distribution Centre. The Chinese internet giant Alibaba is investing 66 million pounds in its first European distribution centre.

 

That turned out on Wednesday at the signing of the declaration of a plan of the company and the Belgian and Walloon governments at the airport of Liège.

The airport just outside the Walloon city becomes the logistical gateway to Europe for the Chinese company.

The investment produces three thousand new jobs, including nine hundred direct jobs.

Also, planned first commercial activities for early 2021.

Prime Minister Charles Michel, who was present at the signing,

 emphasised the significance of the investment for the Belgian and Walloon economies.

“With the acquisition of such a large company, we convey a strong signal,

 among other things to the other major players in the world, and our country has strong assets and the strength to develop further.”
